Permission-based e-mail is an ideal communications
medium to support one-to-one marketing efforts or correspondence campaigns
of all kinds. Custom e-mail messages can be sent over the internet
instantaneously to hundreds of thousands, even millions of recipients.
"Permission-based" e-mail means that the recipient has voluntarily
agreed to receive messages, announcements, etc. in order to be informed
or take advantage of special offers from an organization or their
affiliates. Permission-based e-mail is not spam. Spam is unsolicited
e-mail usually associated with dubious promotions coming from suspicious
companies. CourierE-mail does not send spam.
Permission-based e-mail is an effective tool for any organization
that needs to contact and inform or market-to a large constituency.
Some of the many purposes it can be used for include:
> Product Offerings
> Special Promotions
> Surveys
> Notifications
> Newsletters
The use of permission-based e-mail is rapidly replacing the use
of the postal mail medium and telephone because of five main reasons:
1) E-mail is faster than postal mail campaigns that often
take weeks to get printed and mailed out. E-mail can be sent out
over the internet delivering a promotion, survey, newletter or any
custom message immediately. In the case of a survey or any type
of correspondence that requests a response back from a recipient,
those responses can also be processed immediately and automatically.
Postal mail surveys may take several weeks or even months to complete.
2) E-mail is significantly less expensive than postal mail
campaigns since it requires no printing or paper costs. The cost
of sending e-mail is also substantially less than postage costs.
3) E-mail is more effective than postal mail campaigns since
most of the time recipients have already voluntarily given their
permission to receive offers about products, services, announcments,
etc. and are therefore more receptive to what's being sent to them.
Recipients feel more in control since any legitimate e-mail campaign
allows the recipient to opt-out or cancel further e-mails from being
sent. In addition, if the recipient follows links within the e-mail
it can lead directly to a web page where they can sign-up for services
or purchase goods immediately.
4) E-mail is more engaging than postal mail campaigns since
it can deliver interactive information. E-mail can contain links
to web sites on the internet, or link to a downloadable document
or even show video clips or other kinds of multimedia. E-mail allows
for a two-way exchange.
5) E-mail is a better tool than postal mail campaigns since
it is possible to keep track of the response of the recipients using
click-through tracking technology. Reports and statistics on the
campaign are tabulated immediately. Based on these results subsequent
e-mails can be tailored or personalized.
Essentially the only two items needed to send out a persmission-based
e-mail is a list of opt-in e-mail addresses and the content of the
e-mail itself. The list can be made up of existing clientele or
alternatively lists can also be rented or purchased. The content
can be any message sent as plain text, HTML (web standard), Rich
Media (multimedia such as video, dynamic graphics and sound) or
any combination of the three.
Once the lists are set-up and content defined and formatted, the
e-mail can be sent out immediately. CourierE-mail can do all of
the required Data Processing to prepare and maintain the lists as
well as help with the development and formatting of the message
itself.
